Welcome to the Global Youth Network for Empowerment and Development (GYNED) website!
I am honored to share this message as the founder of GYNED, a vibrant and impactful organization dedicated to the welfare, rights, empowerment, and development of youth and young people in Sierra Leone. Since our establishment in 2012, our passion has been advocating for positive change and addressing the pressing issues faced by young individuals, especially women, girls, and persons living with disabilities.
At GYNED, we firmly believe in the transformative power of youth. We envision a world where every young person, regardless of their gender, tribe, or race, has equal access to opportunities and is empowered to become a leader in national sustainable development. We strive to create a society where the menace of violence, exclusion, deprivation, and fear no longer hold our young generation back.
Our organization is legally registered and fully operational, recognized by esteemed institutions such as the Sierra Leone Association of Non-Governmental Organizations, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Ministry of Youth Affairs, the National Youth Commission, and the Corporate Affairs Commission. This recognition reflects our commitment to professionalism and adherence to high standards of service delivery.
With a nation-wide presence and a strong network of district youth volunteers, representatives, and member organizations spanning all 16 districts of Sierra Leone, GYNED reaches far and wide to make a meaningful impact. Our focus lies on supporting and empowering youth, young women, and other vulnerable and minority groups, ensuring that they have the resources, skills, and opportunities necessary to thrive.
We take a holistic approach to youth development. Through advocacy, education, promotion, support, partnerships, and project implementation, we tackle the root causes of inequality and work towards transforming mindsets. By providing essential services and fostering equal access to opportunities, we strive to empower youth and young people, enabling them to become self-reliant, liberated, and active contributors to society.
What sets GYNED apart is our dedicated team. We have assembled a board, management team, and operational staff comprising individuals with diverse expertise, qualifications, and a deep passion for youth development. Together, we bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our initiatives, ensuring that we deliver impactful and sustainable results.
Collaboration is at the heart of our approach. We forge partnerships with national youth organizations and stakeholders, leveraging collective strengths and resources to create a united front for change. By inspiring young Sierra Leoneans to become socially conscious and responsible leaders, we believe that we can ignite the spark of positive transformation that our nation needs.
